Tanzania Tree Crops Development Program

By improved seedlings, modern agronomy, and market access, we’re promoting agroforestry and conservation agriculture, planting the for resilient, sustainable, and long-term prosperity. This program is heavily linked to promoting agroforestry, which integrates trees into agricultural landscapes, enhancing and improving soil health. Our initiatives focus on empowering local farmers with the necessary and resources to cultivate high-quality tree crops. We provide training on best practices in agronomy, ensuring that farmers can increase their yields while maintaining sustainable practices. By introducing improved seedlings, we are helping farmers produce crops that are not only more resilient to climate change but also have higher market value. In addition to enhancing agricultural practices, we are committed to improving market for farmers. This involves establishing partnerships with local and international buyers, ensuring that farmers receive fair prices for their products. By expanding export opportunities, we to increase the economic stability of farming communities and contribute to the overall growth of Tanzania's economy. Our programs, such as the coffee revival and development program and the southernlands smallholders avocado empowerment program, are already making significant strides in Njombe Rural District. These initiatives demonstrate the positive impact of combining sustainable agricultural practices with economic empowerment. By focusing on tree crops, we are not only food security but also fostering an environment where farmers can thrive. Through our efforts, we are planting the seeds for a prosperous future where the tree crop sector supports local economies and contributes to environmental conservation. Together, we are creating a sustainable model that can be replicated across the region, ensuring that the benefits of our work extend far the immediate community.
